TRS Event 2025 Carlisle Ford Nationals

Got the roof, front end, and doors clay bar'd and waxed to get ready for Carlisle.

Well, it looks like I’m not going to be able to get out tomorrow, so I will be leaving on Thursday morning like the last two years. Say a little prayer that it’s uneventful.

And, I don’t want to steal any glory from @JohnnyO, but I thought it might be worth mentioning to anybody who went to the truck nationals the last two years, that we are not in the same place this year. If you look at the fairground map, the last two years, we were kind of in the 3 o’clock position all the way to the right. This year we are in section “NO,“ which is more the 12 o’clock position, but a little bit more in from the top edge.

That's the same spot where the Rangers normally are at Ford.
My understanding is that we will have a tent in the normal Ranger area.
One of the advantages of us going to the Ford Nationals is that being in the club area doesn't exclude you from judging.
If you've pre-registered and got your stickers in the mail, put them on your windshield ahead of time (upper left corner) and you can roll right through the main entrance and not stop at the ticket building.
Basically after you enter the main gate turn left at the stop sign past the wash bays, then right at the next stop sign and we're up the hill on the left.
For @Rick W and anyone else who's been to Truck but not Ford, the turnout at Ford is A LOT bigger and it's best to get an early start so you're not creeping along in traffic as long.

i’ll throw it out there again. I’ve got a camping pass if anybody wants it for free. With my arm surgery, I decided to stay in an hotel instead of trying to set up the tent and mattress and all that stuff, especially since I haven’t done it since Boy Scouts.

My cell is 770.331.9324. I hope to get there by about 9 o’clock on Thursday night, I’d be happy to meet someone who needs it.

@Curious Hound, you mentioned something about meeting if I was going past South Carolina to bring some parts up to the meet. I’m still open for that. I hope to be leaving by no later than nine in the morning and I’ll be starting out from my girlfriend‘s house that is about an hour north of where I am.

Y'all have fun up there, and stay say safe on your journeys to and from the event. Pictures from the event would be much appreciated and enjoyed.

That parts deal is taken care of. Thanks for being open to helping.

Take plenty of pictures and notes so we can do an article on the show.

The TRS Welcoming Committee is here.
They left two tables for us.
Although I’m heading to the AACA Museum in Hershey now. Been meaning to get there.

Funny, that’s what it looked like when I was here last week….

Wednesday evening I stayed with a friend just north of Atlanta so I could miss the rush-hour on the trip up. It was still supposed to be 10 1/2 hours. I left about 9:30 AM and I pulled in the hotel at 11 PM. Fortunately no disasters this year. I was delayed by construction at one point, and then went about 20 miles in 2 1/2 hours after a bad accident right in the middle of it.

The Lord was looking out for me this year, apparently. Also, in Charlotte, a vintage Peterbilt (1960)s?) dropped his driveshaft at 60 miles an hour about 500 feet in front of me. The guy right in front of me hit the center guard rail, not hard, and the two guys next to me rear-ended each other. Somehow I slid through without a scratch. I remembered why momma always had me pack extra underwear though.

I also got some $2.58 gasoline in Virginia, I wish I had a couple extra tanks!

This morning’s plan is to run by Home Depot and pick up a nut, bolt and washer for a minor problem I had with the trailer, wash the truck when I get there, and be on the Showfield by 9 AM.

Weather is supposed to be nice until some showers starting at 6 PM, clear all day tomorrow. Should be a great show.

Huge thanks to @JohnnyO for putting it together!

When you hit the brakes, nobody wanted to run into the devil baby with glowing red eyes.

Good turnout for Friday damped, literally, by a thunderstorm for about an hour in the afternoon. I plan to arrive early Saturday and move the Maverick sign up a few spaces so we have more room. :giggle:
