2021 Ford Ranger FX4 TRS-3 Project Build

I hate progressive lenses, Tried them & straight lines had curves. makes it impossible to use a tape measure. Ive had bifocals for a few years now. Can’t hardly read without them. At work I use bifocal reader safty glasses. Expensive but cheaper than real prescription safety glasses that will get scratched up quickly & easily. I try to get a couple months out of a pair.

I have a light prescription for distance, but I never use it. I just need glasses to read up close. I tried a pair of transitional lenses, but I couldn't see through them. I would definitely need a defined break from one prescription to the other.

I hate a bit of trouble too. I just adjusted to them... didn't take long either.

I use progressives. Never had any problem. I had one pair made with the prescription flipped so the near sight lense is on top, this is for welding and close work under dash where I can't bend my neck enough...lol.

I like progressives a lot better than the ones with the lines. It seems like anytime I need to look at something for detail work, it's right where the lens break is.

Took a little drive February 1st and took a few photos:

Sinclair Gas Station

This old Sinclair gas station is about 25 minutes west of me. I love this old building. I would love to own an old gas station.

Horton Classic Car Museum

This place is just a few blocks from my house. It used to be full of all kinds of cool muscle cars. The owner died and his wife sold off all of his cars. If anyone is interested in helping me turn it into the National Ford Ranger Museum, let me know.

Gainesville Sante Fe Railroad Station

This building is about 30-minutes east of me. I thought this building was cool, so I took a picture of TRS-3 in front of it.

Gulf Gas Station

This old gas station is next to the train station. Whoever owns this is obviously a gas station enthusiast. The inside of the station is retro as well and has a stack of old Gulf oil cans stacked up in the window.

Maxxis Razr AT Tire Update & Vibration Issue

I still have a vibration though, but it's not in the front. Steering is smooth. It feels like it's underneath me under the middle of the truck somewhere. I keep wondering if it's in the driveshaft.
Mine had the same feeling and it turned out to be that the rear shocks were blown. The carrier bearing on the rear driveshaft has been known to crap out early. The best fix is a one-piece driveshaft from Tom Woods.

That's my future plan but it is more of a want than a need at the moment since I'm not having any issues, yet.

Same, I'm not going to worry about it until there's a problem. Seems to be common in the Sport Trac world where I came from once they're north of 150k. Some people on the late-model Ranger boards are having them crap out at less than 50k. Enough that Tom Woods started making driveshafts for us.
On mine the vibration was worse on some roads than others so I ruled out the driveshaft and figured it had to something in the wheels, tires, or suspension.

I'm hoping to take care of it before it becomes an issue but I got other projects that are more pressing and need taken care of first.

The Tom Woods unit is around $700, FYI.

Oh, I'm aware. That seems to be the going rate for new front driveshafts on trucks lifted with a Skyjacker kit, if you go with the Skyjacker driveshaft. Rough Country is half that. The replacement prop shaft for my CR-V was $600. So, that neighborhood seems to be the average in the market of less common stuff.

Well, I have another broken fawken windshield. Heard something hit it on the passenger side tonight going down the highway and sure wnough it has two cracks in it. That'll be another $500 out of pocket hit.

Man I don't know if you can deal with it for a little while. But I have a friend here that does windows. He replacelwd Randy's Expedition's windshield for around 200.

Sounds like Low Price Auto Glass. I had them put a rear window with defrost and antenna in my 97 Altima. They said they had to have Carlex make it. 2 days and $167 later I was happy.
