This started three days ago. I crank her up and the screen is a bright white background. The touch-beeps are back on. I changed it back to the way I wanted it and the next time I start it up, it's reset again. I did a master reset and that didn't solve the issue.

Anyone else?

Wierd stuff can start happening when the battery is on its way out..

Battery tested perfect. In fact, he said "it doesn't get any better than that". Now Carplay is not recognizing my phone from previous hookups. Every time I plug it in it thinks it's a new phone and makes me agree to terms, etc.

Have you done the update on the Sync system. If your truck is within wifi you can do it that way if not I've heard you can download it for free onto a thumb drive and load it that way. Mine reaches wifi from the house so I just went into the menu on the stereo and started the download with the truck running. I don't know if it has to be running or not but I kept it running just in case. I know it took over an hour so make sure you have fuel haha. But mine was acting screwy till I done the update.

Mine refuses to update via wifi. I haven’t tried the thumb drive method yet. Also, my infotainment center is still running as it should. So I have no driving need to mess with it.

I had to start it 3 different times till mine started loading. It would start then a few min later say download failed. So I pulled the truck up by the house closer and it started. I just figured I had a weak wifi connection. But mine was losing Bluetooth to the phone. The actual android auto still worked fine but kept popping up phone disconnected then a few min later it would say connecting to Robert's S20. But after the update I haven't had any issues. I thought yours was a STX FX4. Does it have the 4 inch or the bigger screen?

4 inch screen. I didn't want what came with the bigger screen.

What version is your Sync on? I (and others) are just recently running into issues after updating to version 22251 a couple months ago. Weird setting things like defaulting to radio when you start up the truck, switching to Sirius starts on channel zero, and multiple other things.

rumour has it that the build 22251 is defective as it’s writing out to a log file that is filled up or something like that. Which kinda makes sense that it took some time before it started to act up and many people are reporting this around the same times.

I don’t think there’s a new “proper “ version to update to as yet.

p.s. I have always updated using the usb method with no problems. I turn off the auto update feature.

I would start with pulling the battery/computer fuse and seeing if a hard reset does anything... Its the price we must pay for tricking rocks into thinking.
