2012 sploder woops?

yea looks like it might have a abit more suspension but it is way low ground clearance

Note that that mule doesn't have a rear diff. Ford's probably trying to beef up the Flex one.

I certainly hope Ford beefs up the Flex suspension and all-wheel-drive system. There's capable crossover and then there's station wagon on stilts, and I think at the very least Ford should make the Explorer more than just another minivan.

If this is the new craptastic directionthat Ford is headed, then I have bought my last Ford. If I wanted a FWD POS, then I would go buy a F#$%IN" GM or Dodge. :flipoff: :flipoff:

Well technically the Explorer has been working it's way into a more soft-roader than off-roader each generation. And for the people that buy the Explorer now it's perfectly fine. For those that still want an old school BOF SUV the Expedition is sitting there waiting for you.

2011 Edge

To me the images of the 2012 Explorer seems too similar to the Edge. How does this allow for product differentiation between the Escape, Edge and Explorer? They all are converging to the same vehicle.

The Expo is too damn long to take out on the trails that I like. It would end up with the rear quarters smashed down to a "boattail" in a couple of hours. The FS Bronco is on the edge of "too big" all ready. That, and the only Expo that I would consider buying has the uglyazz 97 style "fat lip" bumper. The reason that I would consider the older style is the SOLID rear axle, not the IRS crap that is foisted upon us, hence the the FSB for the big truck duties.
