2011 SOHC Power Loss

You know when you open the live data you don't actually have to click on EVERYTHING.

should not be noisy unless they are failing or cheap.

I guess my original fuel pump has been failing since it rolled off the assembly line 11 years ago. :icon_rofl:

In the middle of finishing up an install of a 340lph pump because too lazy to diagnostics, and had to go to a bigger pump for blower anyways

Just the dip behind the throttle...

Could be, I've spent 32yrs in dealerships and most pumps sound good, smooth snd quiet, some do sound loud and those I do not have much faith in. A good, factory pump can go for 20yrs or more, keep the filter clean and gas good. Ultimately the noise is a sigh of imbalance of some form within the pump, imbalance leads to issues over time

...or is the sign of a massive pump lol. I have the Kemso 340 in my 1988 and 2011 now. Both sound the same - loud AF because they're a massive pump.

Verdict:

Guessing the fuel pump was the issue. Tried putting the stoopid AFE CAI back on and resetting the PCM yesterday. After it found "home" again, truck runs MUCH BETTER, is way smoother, has power in the low rpm ranges again, and I can feel the fuel cut on decel now. Couldn't tell that it had that before, guessing it was starving for fuel.

The AFE intake would cause P0171 and P0174 codes to trigger last time it was attempted - the 2011s maf housing is 66mm, and the afe intake has a 67.8mm housing. Put it back on, and hey ma, no lean codes.

I'll update if there's more issues, but for now, consider it fixed.

...lets be serious, it's a Ford; odds are won't stay fixed for long. 😬

Have you tried running some sea foam through it?
