2011 Ranger 18 inch rims Vibration

Have a 2011 2wd 4.0 picked up a set of 18 inch rims one of the tires had bad spot and wanted a little taller tire. So i put a set of falken 255/55 radial tires on and now at about 55 plus started getting a vibration in the steering wheel and could feel it a slight from the rear. Took them back up to the shop they rebalanced while i watched. One tire they couldnt get to balance still out by .25 so they are going to be ordering me a new tire. I had them put this one on the back to rule a out of balance tire for the vibration in the front. Still got the vibration this is only when i have the 18's on. I can put the stock tires and wheels back on and everything goes back to normal. Anyone have any clues that could be causing this to happen. The tire shop was not able to check the rims for rounds but as i watched them spin on the machine i saw no shake jumps or wobbles in the rim.

What exact type of Falkens were they? AT's, ATS, STZ04's? You should take them somewhere and have them road-forced, it measures the movement of the tire as it spins. Falkens tend to have more "hop" which, even when balanced to "0" could still cause a shimmy and vibration. There is also a way to measure the movement of the wheel; the balancer can tell where the tire should sit on the wheel for best ride quality then they would mark the tire and wheel and match the points. Not all shops have balancers that can do this though.
