Past few years I've noticed a subtle thump/bump just *after* coming to a complete stop.
Eg: I'll be doing normal city driving, roll up to a red calmly braking and coming to a normal stop. I've got fairly gentle braking foot. maybe 1-2 seconds after coming to a complete stop I can 'feel' a very slight bump/thump in the drivetrain or suspension. I really think its the drivetrain and not the suspension unloading, and kinda feels like a transmission action/event, or something odd like the motor settling slightly or maybe something odd with the clutch on the main radiator cooling fan. Its a deeper thump/bump than the AC compressor kicking on and off, and happens even when the heater controls are off and AC not running - and there's no click like you get with the AC.
Shocks are all new and suspension is in decent shape. I think I may have read years ago that this is something to do with the torque convertor and isnt unusual on these vehicles.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? I posted this in the 4.0 engine group as I think its engine or driveline related.
