Hey guys, I have a 08 FX4 with a 3 inch levelling lift kit.(3 inch front 2 inch rear). I wanna know what would be the biggest tire size i could go? i have 265 duratracs on it right now. i also wanna go with 18's or 20's and have that low profile mt tires look. some guys tell me 33's some say 35's.Whats your guys opinions? I cant see 35's working but let me know your opinions! Thanks Guys! :headbang:

I also wouldnt mind them stick out past the flares! Chrome rims what backspacing is needed? Love the wide stance

You're gonna kill the look and the rise with wheels like that but to each his own. 3.75 or less on the backspacing. 33 max tire size. Like a 285

agreed...cruising mall parkinglots with chrome wheels and low pros ain't off roading...why do the lift for that kind of setup. Regardless to each their own in deed...run the 3.75 backspace it sets the wheels just right in my opinion.

edit:

Mall crawler

HAHA...just read that ...my thoughts exactly

285 denotes width, not height of tire.

Regardless, if you want your tires to stick out past the fenders they will rub when the suspension is compressed. If all you do is mall crawl (sounds like it, wanting big rims and all) then whatever, but for a real offroad truck fenders need to be trimmed.

Lol im not set on big rims I just want a nicer rim could be 17's even I got 265/75/16 duratracs on it right now

Opinions, ya we all have um… you need a good 4 to 5” lift to fit 33” tires.
I have the SuperLift 4.5, max’d out with Coil-Overs and I still hit sometime on the street.

The further the tires stick out, wider rims, the shorter the turning radius, the tire will hit the body/flares sooner on 10" wheels that on 8” wheels.

Also, IMHO, a 12.50 tire looks better on an 8” rim, 10” rims tend to make the tire look too straight and you have less rim protection.

So you dont think id fit 33's on a 3 inch lift? I work oilfield constructio so I need to get in and out of leasrs to get to the cats and trackhoes. I just want to go a bit bigger then my 265's

Go to your local tire/offroad shop and ask em if they'll do a test fit....only way to really know how 33s will fit is to slap some on and see

And remember even if they fit you still need to turn and take a bump.

If you can find one your might try a Super Lift. $$$ !

OR twist the t-bars as far as possible and put in a three inch body lift then you will have room.

When you don't have enough lift and the tires hit on bumps it $ucks.

Do It Right The First Time !

So your saying keep my lift now, crank the tbars and a 3 inch body lift?
