Hey guys... I'm new to the forum. I found this site looking for info on my ranger.
I see lots of posts for misfires... this might help.
I've got a 2008 3.0L Ranger with 8500km on it... it was towed to the dealer 2wks ago because of bad misfire & stalling. They changed my plugs, wires, coil, fuel injectors and finally told me my PCM was defective. 2 wks have now passed, they installed the new PCM (back ordered for 2wks)... it didn't fix the problem!!!
I've now been told that there has been a TSB issued by Ford due to pressed-in valve seats dropping out of the heads - this apparently causes compression problems and shows up as a misfire.
Hope this helps anybody out there... I'll keep you informed how it turns out... if Ford ever fixes it - they're telling me it'll be atleast another week for parts - that's customer service for you!
