i have some questions about what various lifts will get me what ride heights. from what i've found out is my truck sits lower than an 07 and under. if i crank my t-bars i can gain up to 2 inches of lift. if i do a prekey i can gain 2 inches of lift. if i prekey and then crank the t-bars i could gain 4 inches of lift from the stock 08- ride height.
question 1
now if i were to get one of those hated aftermarket torsion key lifts that advertise adjustable up to 3 inches, would i gain 5 inches since my truck is an 08 and not an 07?
question 2
the superlift kit will give 4 inches of lift. do i need to do the prekey with the superlift kit, or will adding the prekey key with the kit actually give an 08 6 inches of lift vs 4 inches on a 07?
question 3
if i do any of what i talked about above, and added a 3 inch body lift, will i run into problems with mechanocal components such as steering and brakes?
i am under the impression by doing a prekey with a superlift kit, plus a 3 inch body lift kit, and switching from 29 inch tires to 33 inch tires, my overall change in ride height would be 11", (2 for the prekey, 4 for the superlift, 3 for the bodylift, and 2 for the tires).
i bought this truck in december 2011, its 2008 xlt 4x4, current mods are alarm/remote start, tinted windows up front and eyebrow on windshield. added blue wiper blades, smoked in-channel window vents, smoked bug sheild. added black vertical style grill, black halo headlights, and black halo fog lights, black led tail lights, and smoked led 3rd brake light, tailgate lightbar with scanning turn signals. installed black nerf bars and black bull bar, and have a set of bushwacker pocket style fender flares on the way via fedex, should be installed this weekend.
