2008 3.0 engine compatibility

I was wondering if a 3.0 from a 2001 ranger will directly swap into a 2008, I have one for parts and I have someone questioning about if it will fit or not.

I can't seem to find anywhere with the information, thanks

Yes, it will swap in fine

3.0l Vulcan engine has been around since 1986, in Rangers since 1991, and last used in 2008 Ranger.

There were some changes over the years, but nothing too major, 1999 saw longer head bolts and smaller valves

2001 and 2008 3.0l Vulcans are for the most part identical
