2007 Red Trailer 4X8 Utility Trailer

I have a ball mount with an integral weigh scale. It makes loading the trailer properly much easier.

I looked at getting one of those at one time but the ones available were for trailers way heavier than mine and wouldn’t even budge the scale.

Now, with the Lock N Roll hitch system, that isn’t even an option. So, I used a bathroom scale to get the tongue weights. Having stabilizer jacks on all four corners of the trailer makes that possible without too much trouble.

I decided to start the next step in the remodel of the trailer. The Field Drab paint I wanted to use for the MERV camouflage pattern is just too expensive. So, instead of going with a more universal Winter US & Europe - Verdant pattern, I’m going ahead with the summer US & Europe - Verdant pattern.

The colors that best match the foliage and dirt in this area is Deep Forest Green, Light Green, sand, and Black. If I have more cash flow or the price drops from $15 a can, I can always spray over the Light Green. The rest of the pattern doesn’t change. And if I really wanted to, I could also use flat white over the same areas for the Snow - Temperate w/ Trees & Shrubs pattern (yeah, no. I’m not that into it).

Using patterns used on previous military trailers, I more or less copied them. None are the same style of trailer. So, I couldn’t do and exact duplication.

So far, the deck, frame, tongue box, and tailgate are done. Once the paint has a chance to cure and harden, I’ll put the front and sides back on and paint those.

I'm not going to say what I see in that Rorschach test paint job... 😆

The pattern was very random. Any perceived images or patterns are purely on the eye of the beer holder.

That being said, I should hide some “things” in the pattern just for fun!

Correction on the name of the pattern, it's MERDC. And here is a representative template of what they are supposed to look like, more or less.

I hear that everyone (supervision to truck washer) at the county truck garage in Jersey is pretty good at hiding artistic drawings on things like this...

Almost done. A little touch up here and there on the main body. The middle section of the ramp still needs painted and the current work on the trailer is complete. More to come.

Man, look at that! I love it! Such dedication to doing it right and here’s me over here just randomly drawing blue camo on my Choptop with no thought to doing it in any form of correct pattern :icon_rofl:

Seriously, that’s pretty awesome man! Props for sure!

The light green is driving me nuts. It's the proper color and pattern but the standard at that time for a year round pattern is Field Drab, which is a light brown. It's to bright with the green to me. Maybe it's all the years of wearing Woodland BDUs.

I mean, I have a heart for the Woodland BDUs since I’ve worn them, but I kinda like the trailer as is… I dunno…

Well, at $15 a spray can for Field Drab, it's going to stay this way for a while and why I went with the light green. I can always repaint over the light green at a later date. Plus, only a few places have it as special order. I can't just go over to Walmart and get the paint.

Ok, it has to be said... you painted you supposed red trailer and yet again it's not red and now it even disappeared! :)

Red Trailers was the brand/company that I bought the trailer from. :p
