2007 Mustang GT seats in a Ranger- who has done it?

I got a sweet deal on a set of 2007 Power Leather GT seats- now just need to get them in the truck. The brackets on the seats are way different- not just a simple unbolt and swap. Who has done this swap? Let's see your brackets

Gonna have to fab them. I don't recall seeing anyone on any of the other Ranger forums do this. Have you sat one in your truck? does it feel like it's going to sit right? Not too high, far back, etc?

about the same...

The seat appears to be about the same height as the stock ones. The tracks on the mustang seats are alot wider. Thinking about grinding off the rivets that hold the brackets on both seats and bolting the ranger ones to the mustang ones then ovallizing (sp) the bolt holes to fit. Don't want to weld and run the risk of burning the leather or foam.

Interesting...

I ground out the rivets holding the brackets to the tracks on both passenger seats. I bolted the brackets back into the truck and sat the seat on the brackets. With the assistance of a cold forging device (read 5 lb sledge hammer), I massaged the brackets out about 1/2 inch on each side and the holes on the Ranger brackets lined up with the holes on the Mustang tracks!

Tomorrow I will pick up some grade 8 bolts of the same diameter as the rivets and bolt it all together.

With the Mustang seat sitting on the Ranger brackets, the seat portion is the same height, the headrest is about an inch taller on the Mustang seat.


HINT: If you do this seat swap you will need to keep your seatbelt buckle-the Mustang one will not work with the Ranger seatbelt. It is just held on with a torxhead bolt (use the Mustang bolt on the Ranger seatbelt-Ford thought it would be a good idea to change the size bolts too).

Once all assembled I will post pics.
