2006 Ranger Tilt steering??

I have a 2004 Ranger XLT 4x4 with the tilt steering column. My cousin just bought the same truck, but a 2006. There is no lever on the left side of the column for the tilt. Can't find it anywhere...did they remove this feature, or is there something I am missing here? I can;t imagine the feature just went away...or maybe it did! Thanks!

Technically it was an option, so not every truck came with it.

However, on the F-series in that year range all the columns were tilt, the only difference between getting it and not was the trim on the column and the lever sticking out. I have not had the opportunity to see if this is true on the Rangers.

So go take the column trim off and see if the tilt mechanism is in there or not. Then report back so I know.

Dude, it is three screws to pop the lower cover and look.

If he can't do that he needs to just stop driving because putting gas in the car is probably hard.

Is an option, seems like a package, all the trucks I have seen with tilt also have cruise control and a leather wrapped wheel.

The lever does not exist on non tilt trucks but the latch that adjusts the column is there, but there is no flexible coupler so the column wont tilt more than a fraction of an inch...
