Haha yeah I busted through a few 3' snowdrifts and the zip ties holding the plate on didn't like it lol. So I got it in the windshield now. Will leave it there till a cop pulls me over lol.
Driver side tire is out of camber again something has to be bent I'm guessing lower control arm. It took a hard hit on this jump.
Anyone make stock replacement front end parts that are stronger? I know there's tubular uppers but what about lowers? Anyone making boxed lower control arms in the factory size? Or will I have to go long travel to get those stronger parts.
got my plugs changed, wires changed, MAF and TB cleaned, seafoamed the engine today, runs pretty good now. ran fine before (aside from the misfire from bad plugs) but after all that its a noticeable improvement.
still have to change the Fuel filter, and do a tire rotation. have a bent knuckle (from what i can tell and others on here can tell) so i need to find a stronger replacement, or stock replacement.
small update. had a cracked leaf spring, so today's task was replacing those.
bought a set of used 08 ranger springs. wanted chevy's but time and money was in charge so ranger leafs it was.
passenger side was a breeze. took maybe 20 minutes start to finish. driver side, well that was a different story. both the bolts on the shackle were stuuuuuck. anded up grinding the one on the leaf off, and luckily found another bolt that fit perfect. ended up grinding the rivets off the shackle hanger and using bolts in there to. just becuase.
gained about 1" of lift from the new, non sagging springs. and rides so much better. can't wait till i can do the chevy swap.
few pics for fun.
ended up having to take the bed off to get leverage. finally got it.
Been driving the truck lately and I'm back to loving my commute Haha.
Hate cars.
Tossed a new battery in the ranger. Old one wasn't holding a charge anymore. I'd have to boost it if I let it sit more than 3 days.
The new leafs I put on a while ago are still doing good. Seller said he took them off due to sagging. And they gave me 3/4" of lift lol. Mine were baaaaad.
Decided to see if I could smoke the tires. Consensus is yes.
I have been toying with the idea of selling my ranger and my snowmobile, and buying an older f150. Thinking 80-86 300. Lower my costs and debts.
Was getting some clunks and knocks from I assume the front end. Probably axles. Maybe front u joints. Once the focus is back together on daily driver status I'll dig into the ranger.
