prepping a 2002 to put in my 2005. swapping the external parts to match. I'm leaving the 2002 aluminum valve cover since it isn't leaking. fuel rail will need swapped, intake vent by the oil cap is a miss-match to the 2005 hose.

here are the dreaded rear hoses. by the time 2005 rolled around a small adapter was used to connect the 3 hoses to the rear of the intake manifold, 2 screws remove it.
the large hose is from the PCV, the 2 smaller are coolant to keep the adapter warm so vapors don't condense.

there is a bolt hidden behind the pulley that secures the timing cover. the thread inside the pulley shaft is 3/8 coarse.

the EGR solenoid also has coolant, that's the same line going to the manifold port adapter.

I'm taking my time, no big hurry on this. anybody need pics of specific parts?

Dude! I am finally doing exactly the same thing. These pictures are exactly what I needed to replumb the cooling system! Thank you so much!

Anybody have a line on the hose that runs from the PCV valve to the intake? We started this project a year ago, kinda chipping away as time allowed. We bought a new house in the meantime and cannot locate some of the parts. All we have left is the PCV to intake connection and reinstalling the front fender liners. Unfortunately the PCV hose is missing and I cannot find the parts for it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. And sorry for hijacking your post.

I bought mine from Ford. -6758B tube, PCV to intake I'll have to look for the rest of the number.
for a 2005

part -6758A is the tube from the big rubber intake tube to the port on top of the valve cover, pass side.

EDIT: can't find the full #. the part can be viewed at a Ford parts site, under engine, then other engine parts. it's a couple pages down.

Glad to know I am not the only one who can't find the part. I did check the ford sites but was under the mistaken assumption that this would be a single part. If you ever want to make a mechanical engineer feel stupid, just give him Ford's exploded view :ROFLMAO:

Hello,

Thanks for posting these pics. I have been searching for them for such a long time. I just had my clutch done and thought that I got all those hoses in the rear of the engine but I think I forgot one of them.

Do you all think that I can get that one off and changed out without dealing with the transmission again. I wish my mechanic noticed that I did not have all the hoses when he did the job because I bought all of them other than that one that connects to the metal bend tube.

Great pics.

Thanks

BOB

Hello All,

I did manage to get that hose on and it was tough for sure. There was some cursing but now that it is done I feel a lot better than it is all dealt with and good for another 20 years.

Thanks for the pictures.

BOB

glad you got it.
I was reluctant to give advice because of the difficulty.
