2004 ford ranger transmission swap

I have a lead on a 2004 ford ranger 4x4 with a bad M5OD-R1HD and a 93 ford ranger RWD with a good M5OD-R1 that im going to do a v8 swap on. Both have a 4.0 V6

Can the 93 transmission be used on the 2004. I know the tailshaft is different. Can i swap them?

I believe the output shaft is different between the two transmissions
