Hello,

Today I got into my truck after work and started it up. I noticed that the battery light was on and started driving home when the lights slowly began to dim. The radio eventually went off and the truck started having very poor acceleration. I eventually made it home but the truck was getting worse and worse as time went on (keep in mind this was a 25 minute drive).

Does anyone have any information on what is going on with my truck. Does it seem likely that this is just the battery?

Is possible. Or alternator. Or any connection, ground, wire within the charging system.
Charge the battery fully. Does it take a charge? if so, go to an auto repair shop and get the battery load tested to ensure not a dead cell.
Use a voltage meter to measure alternator output when running. Is it 14 volt? Any significant change when lights switched on?
Those two things should isolate problem somewhat, at least as far as bad battery or alternator.

Have the alternator checked out, the battery light on the dash is for the alternator.
