2003 Ford Escape

Does anyone happen to know what size socket i need to take off the hub nut on the rear. I have searched the internet and cant find out what size i will need.

Well got it all torn down, got the bearing pressed out and the new one pressed in. But i need some advice on how to get the hub back in. Do i just tap it back in with a hammer? I dont wanna ruin the new bearing.

Thanks

It should really be pressed in but I suppose you could tap it in, but if you do, be sure to support the bearing or it will try to separate.

The hub has to be pressed in, and then put under at least 2500 lbs on force, with the bearing properly supported, or the bearing will be loose when you put it on. You cannot generate the needed pressure to reseat the bearing by tightening the axle shaft, the threads will strip first.
