Hi- I notice that my seats will not fold/slide forward very far forward at all- like no room to put a cooler or much of anything thru the space to the rear area. It is the basic model with no jumpseats or anything. Is there a mod I can do on the seat tracks or how can I get the seats to slide all the way forward when putting something in the back of the extended cab?

Honestly, why not put the coolers in the back? A couple bungee straps across the top, and one through a handle just to be sure and you should be good to go.

Just a suggestion.
Take Care.

Edit:

Now that I read it again, you must have a 2-door extended cab? I test drove a couple and noticed that the seats do not fold forward very far... You may just want to put them in the back like I said above. There could be a way to move the tracks forward, but I don't think you could extend the tracks...

yes- 2 door extended cab. Am I missing something? With the seat folded forward there is not even room to put a decent sized backpack thru the opening or even a medium sized toolbox. Someone else must have run into this.

Hi, I dunno if the 2003 has the same idea as my truck does, but I noticed that the passenger seat slides and folds quite a bit further forward than my drivers seat does. I can fit a proper tool box through the space on the passenger side but as you said, I can hardly fit a rucksack through the drivers side...

Cheers
Dave

That's just the crappy design of it... its not something that differs from truck-to-truck. I mean really, who would make something like that and not at least put one door to get access to the back... (the answer is Ford)

I went from a 2004 4D Supercab to a 2003 2D Supercab and about the best that you can do is go in through the passenger side. The passenger side allows enough clearance that you can get something moderately sized in the back. It frankly is a PITA.

Would I be able to maybe swap in a passenger side seat from an earlier year. This is just ridiculous that I cannot even fit a backpack in without wrestling it thru the space in between the two front seats. The passenger side is no different from the drivers. Perhaps I will take it apart and see if there is something that can be removed or modified to make it slide forward more. There is plenty of room in the back if I could just get to it.
