Looks good. Have a plan for the alt bracket?
I originally used a stock Mustang bracket, similar to yours, and just cut the entire top off it, tensioner, all that stuff. Then used a turnbuckle to a water pump bolt to adjust it. Just an idea, although any old bracket will work.
I put the transmission and the starter in the truck last night, hooked up the battery and turned the key......Bad boy cranks right over, its gettin close to being finished now
I am interested to see what headers you are going use. My Torque Monsters are extremely close to the steering shaft. Inquiring minds would like to see.
I am currently running the tri-y headers off of a 5.0 exploder. as soon as I break in the engine I will be building my own headers (over the frame) from stainless, 1 5/8 primarys
these are the abortions i have to use for the time being
Ya they're damn close to the steering, i'm not too sure they're gonna be on too long. they're ugly as hell and dont look like they allow enough flow for a windsor.
but on the other hand someone told me they're good to 400hp (probably a lie)
I'm working on getting all of the interior put back together this weekend so check back after the 4th and I should have a bunch more pics posted.
Ok, over the past few weeks I was able to free up some time and do some more work on the truck.
I got the shifter mounted and the tranny is bolted up and leak free. I was able to drive it around the parking lot at the shop and she felt amazing, and it was nice to drive it for once in over 2 years. its running really rich so I gotta down jet the carb. After that all i need to do is run the cooling lines to the radiator in the back, hook up the taillights and put it on the dyno for some break in time and tuning.
More pics coming soon and I'll keep everyone updated.
Well I had a few issuse that I ran into, for some reason 75% of my rocker arms decided to loosen up which caused the truck to run like crap. So I got that situated and its 100% now, then I had to replace the car with a smaller one, no big deal there either. So now I'm running a Holley 650 double pumper.
I came up with a way to run the factory alternator bracket without the stock tensioner and only running crank, w/p and alternator pulleys. just need to make a tensioner from the top tab of the alt. to the w/p. I used 5/16 heims and some DOM i had laying around.
The taillights are wired up and mounted, just gotta loom the wiring and plate some more of the rear end. All I have to do now is plumb the cooling lines and mount the fuel cell. Here are some pics......
I am pretty sure you have addressed this issue but will your rear end be able to handle the new power plant? I would hate to you get going down the road and then break down bc your rear diff is a few pieces.
