So I have a 2002 ranger with the 3.0 and the motor is done I can get my hands on a 2006 with the 4.0 in it i was wondering if that swap was possible and how complicated it would be thanks for the help in advance

You're probably better off going back with the 3.0. Otherwise EVERYTHING has to be swapped. As far as I know, nothing crosses over from 3.0 to 4.0. Motor/trans/harness/computer. The same amount of work can get you a 5.o v8 out of an Expo/Mounty donor, but since you already have the 4.o donor … go with that????
