2002 auto tranny

Can anyone tell me what tranny i have. 2002 ranger edge with a 3.0l extended cab.

Also this morning on my way home from work i had some stuff in the bed not very hevey load at all and my O/d light on my dash was blinking saying O/D off. Anyone know what that means. I hid the O/D button on my shift lever and the light just kept blinking.
Any help would be great

Double check with your door tag to verify the transmission code.

As for the O/D light flashing, did you check the owners manual about it? Its been a while since I read mine, so I do not remember what it said exactly; but it may give you some insight.

I bought the truck second hand so i do not have the owners manual

You Have a 5R44E/5R55E trans. The flashing OD light means that the trans ratio is wrong (SLIPPING). Have the codes checked. Codes p0732 P0733 or no engine braking in first gear. remove valve body and replace blown out gaskets re-torque valve body bolts to 89 in/ lbs replace filter and fluid.

someone told me there might be some tsb's on the tranny any way i can look them up?
