2002 3.0L rough idle

I purchased a 02 ranger 3.0L motor runs great just has a rough idle 210,000 miles on the clock ,has new coil , wires, just replaced fuel filter not sure why it idles like this ?

2002 Ranger

Ok I looked for vacuum leaks with a smoke test found nothing , still has a rough idle and now it seems like when you are down below 2500 rpm that it surges, I have replaced cam synchronizer according the the thread on this site still at a loss here . truck runs great about 3000 rpm

Really? Not really noticed it on mine. Yeah, occasionally it idles rough right after starting. A few brisk revs and she clears right up.

Mine has had quite a few other problems though!

You get used to it and don't realize it but they all do just a tad. Doesn't mean anything is wrong. If it's shaking the cab, that's a rough idle to be concerned with.

Yeah, I've had it for 17 years, so you're probably right.

Figured it out the cat where plugged up gutted them runs like a champ . Yes it does have the little rough idle still taking it as nature of the beast
