well gas mileage is killing me plz help thank yu

If you are in doubt about the age of the O2 sensor it would probably be wise to replace it. Here is some general info about O2 sensors that may help you if you want to try and test the sensor. http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=31 It is fairly simple to test if you have a volt meter (I prefer digital due to being high impedance) and a couple clothing type straight pins to poke thru the insulation. I usually ground one end of the meter and with the engine fully warm and idling I probe each of the wires until I find the one that is quickly fluctuating up and down between .1 and .9 volts. I don't know the colors off hand but two of the four wires should be at ground (0 volts), one at 12v and of course the O2 signal that should be fluctuating indicating closed loop. There are other things like leaky injectors, maf, plugged air box, fuel pressure regulator etc that can make it run rich and overwhelm the ecm's ability to adjust to the O2 sensor. Probably best to replace O2 since they are only supposed to be good for 60k miles or so. Just my opinion though.

ok well thank you very much im running into another issue now my truck shuts down at random the starts up so im not sure i was thinking maybe something to due with lack of power? but im not sure its my dd and i really cant have it take crap on me dos any one happen to have an idea? plz help thank you so much

Intermittent problems are tough. If you have a tach, knowing if the needle drops when the engine quits will tell you if it's spark. Maybe rig up a fuel pressure gauge that you can see while driving (some risk there) to see if it drops. Then if you think it's loosing 12 volts like at the fuel pump, coil etc, you could run a long wire inside to your voltmeter (or test light) and watch it while driving. Hard to say if your problems are related at this point. Hope you get it figured out soon.
