2002 3.0 Edge List of various problems I'm having

Being a a technician,I can say this fixes in a "CAN" do not work and and will never fix the problem long term, it might get u buy for month or 2 but thats it, bars radiator stop that stuff doesn't work, any transmission anti slip stuff is worse for transmission, ring seal come that stuff will never work, if u want it fixed then take it to some1 who knows how to fix yeah a forum can be good for diagnostics or locating a certain component, the 1 "Can" solution that does work is Lucas oil motor oil treatment other than that everything else is a waste and usually does more harm than good

Who said anything about fixes from a can? other than using e-85 as an injector cleaner?

All the information offered regarding the problems listed by the OP were given as a diagnostic method to eliminate possibilities and to narrow the window down on his problem.

I think many of his issues are fuel related, he already mentioned having to turn the key on multiple times to get the truck to start, That is a fuel pump / check valve issue, period.

So if it were me I would pull the bed and replace the pump, run a 25% mix of E-85 & gasoline for a couple of tanks and then see what symptoms are left to cure.

I really dont think he has an internal engine problem, cylinders 2 & 5 are know for lower compression numbers on these 3.0's, if you ever look at the manifold / intake runner positions on the heads compared to the end cylinders you will see why, its the runner entry & length into the head, these 3.0 heads are very poor in terms of equal air flow on the center cylinder, with careful porting you can get it close, still not exact and this will lead to different compression numbers on those cylinders, seen it on the 3.0 blower motors I have built.

Regardless of a serp belt change, sometimes new belts squeak, its easy to take it off and listen as was suggested by Ron, (good advice in his post)

I have the same problems WITHOUT the starting problem. my 02 edge 3.0 is around 126xxx ... very frustrating. Im getting a P0306 code every once and a while WITH a loud clicking noise after opening the throttle up/ going up a hill. looking for some info as well. hope we can get it figured out. BTW i replaced the cam syncro and still get the flickering dummy oil pressure gauge after driving for a bit.
