2001 Wheels on a 1999?

Hi,

My 99 XLT Ranger 4X4 has 15" wheels/tires, and the door sticker lists the tire size as 245/75R-16. I'd like to have the original wheels/tires on the truck.

I found a set of 16" wheels (5 oval holes) that were on a 2001 Ranger 4X4, and I believe they are correct for my truck. Are they correct?

The tire size 245/75R-16 is listed, but is this the size that is commonly used, or is there another size that is more popular?

Yes they will fit.

Rim diameter aside, there are very few situations where any given Ranger rim will not bolt right on to any given Ranger, no matter year, style, or other.

Most of the problems come from late model or 2wd specific rims not clearing the 4x4 hubs on early model trucks.

Mid-way through 01 they switched to a live axle which eliminated the hubs. Most of the wheel designs introduced after that do not fit over the 4x4 hubs properly. I can only think of two rims that were introduced that late in production though. The ugly Y-spoke rims, and the generally prized and sought after Alcoas.

The tear-drop style that the OP bought are an up-sized version of the 15" rims introduced on the 95 Explorer and used on Rangers. They have the larger center hole and will work.
