i have a 2001 ranger supercab and im getting about 15 mpg. its a 4 cylinder and i think i should be getting more right? can anyone tell me how to increase the mpg please.

thanks

Just bought a 2007 Ranger 4 banger auto. My first trip showed 25mpg @ 70+mph. If a recent tune w/filters has been done with no change,I'd look to the 02 sensor.

15 MPG with a 2.3/5 spd Supercab?????? Well Duhhhh......of course it's supposed to get more.
Due to the fact that you asked if a 4 banger should get more than 15 mpg, I have to assume that you need to do all the maintenance services that you probably neglected.

my 08 w2.3 4spd on the interstate gets anywhere from 20 to best 22. i dont think i have ever gotten anywhere near what the window sticker on the truck says

I get 25-27 if I use non ethanol fuel, only 22-23 with ethanol. Mine's an 02.

I feel your pain buddy....I really do Im getting about 14 mpg. I'm already noticing after a fuel injection clean I put in yesterday that my fuel gauge is not going down quite as fast. also replace your fuel filter(I need to do this). If you got the cash do do so than get the full tuneup

Great MPG !

Just completed trip to NC and GA from MI with city, freeway and lot a of mountain grades. I averaged 27.5 mpg for 1450 mile trip with my 2009 Sport R/C 2.3 5 speed manual. I'm very happy with MPG at this point.:yahoo:

I've got a 2008 supercab with 2.3L and 5 speed. Just got back from a 2000 mile trip. Mostly freeway diving and averaged 27 MPG. The milage is about 8,000. When I first bought the truck last November, I was getting 22 MPG. Gotta love these Rangers.
