Hey, guys! First post here, been poking around for a few weeks now and figured I'd start the beginning of asking all kinds of questions.

So as it says, I have a 2001 Ranger Edge and I'm wondering how wide of a back tire I can get on it, but it's a little bit more loaded of a question than that. I'm planning on dropping it about 5" (I already know... torsion bar drop, wtf am I doing? :D ).

Now, I'm currently looking at a set of 18x8 (front) & 18x9.5 (rear) rims on 235/65R18 & 275/55R18, respectively. I live in Florida, and I don't offroad, so this truck is 99.9% of the time flatter than your sister. So if it'll rub at full flex at around a 5" drop isn't the most needed info, but I am curious if it'll rub at steering lock that low.

I'm also wondering about offset. The "wheel specialist" I chatted with on a website looking at rims could only tell me (after even taking the time to reference the rim manufacturers site) that the truck fits 18x8. No additional information, when offset was my question. So, if I have front rims sitting at +20 offset @ 18x8, what offset do I need in the rear to keep a set of 18x9.5's from protruding further than the front rims?

This is a lot of shit, but hopefully someone can tell me whether I'm wasting my time or not. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TRS :)

Good page to bookmark here: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.shtml

Loads of Ranger info there

Look at "Brakes, Steering, Tires & Wheels" section

Then at "Ranger Wheel Guide"
It will have the info on back spacing

Width of the tires really depends on if you want then sticking out passed the fenders or not, you can measure current clearance to frame wheel wheel and current off-set of the wheel you have now
