2001 Ranger Edge 4x4 control module

Can anyone tell me where I can find the control module at? I've read everything I can find on this site and none of the discriptions are clear enough for me to find this thing. Help!

Passenger footwell. Directly below the fuel pump reset switch. Pull out the plastic trim panel.

do you know if I need to disconect the battery to remove and replace?

Not required. I've unplugged mine a number of times with the battery still connected with no adverse effects.
