Ok- so, maybe I'm just too tired from all the OT I've been doing- but here is what's going on:

My '01 Edge 4x4 with a 4.0 SOHC has a cylinder #6 misfire, is running all choppy, and as of the last few months, has been consuming so much oil that it's equated to about 3 oil changes.

Before the injector/poor running problem, I didn't have this oil eating issue. Tons of blue smoke and wet all underneath engine/trans.

It HAD the code for the cylinder 6 misfire..now I cleared it and it hasn't come back. The problem still remains, however.

The complete exhaust including the seam between the front & rear cats (Fed emissions LEV) is gone. I believe the rear cats are clogged, at least partially. No check engine light for that issue, no overheating, no nothing.

I use this thing every day and this problem actually has thrown me for a loop. I'm wondering if I should put any money into it at all.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

A little more info:

The blue smoke is right after startup and up to about 3 minutes after, slowly dissipating. Like worn valve seals but the thing didn't burn ANY oil before this injector issue. A few times it blew a cloud out so bad that it was like it had bad rings.

And every car I've ever seen have a cat problem has a CEL and basically can't get out of its own way.

This thing has a definite lack of power but it gets up and goes highway speed. I have 137k and change. This is really nothing for these trucks as you guys know.

Do the spark plug tips show that its burning oil?

Rear main seal, or some times front main, can leak oil quite fast but that's on the ground?
You don't mention "leaks", so there are none?

Check the PCV Hoses and change the PCV Valve for sure
PCV system is there to put a bit a negative pressure in the crankcase/valve covers, which prevents valve guide seals from leaking as much.

You needed to remove some of this PCV system to do the injectors, maybe it got clogged or is not setup correctly.

Hey thanks for the reply. YES! It IS leaking. I must be fried lately cuz I realized I didn't mention that.
Engine oil leaking all over under engine/trans. Going all over front cat pipe, etc. I swore I saw oil on top of the engine block one day a few weeks back, but not now. I'm sure it leaked down, burned off, etc.

It still needs the injector(s) done, I haven't touched it yet. No time, and can't lay it up cuz I don't have a spare car on weekdays. Sounds like it's running on 5 cylinders.

The plugs haven't changed their operation since I replaced them in December. The ones before were double platinums with 28k on them. The # 6 cylinder plug electrode was worn and carbon'ed up. Other 5 were fine, normal.
I'll do the PCV valve real quick..I was curious about if the oil was spitting out the PCV system, or if it was clogged, etc.

This truck is a station vehicle so it doesn't get much highway use. 15 miles a day. Sits on weekends.
When I first start it, there is a massive cloud of oil smoke, and that dissipates, but it sits there putting away and still puffing some blue smoke.
