2001 4x4 popping somewhere in the front.

it comes and goes... it happens worse in 4x4, but can also happen in 2wd going down the road

I replaced the driver side CV axle, and the driver side wheel hub...its still there....its sounds bad....but then it can go away....

Have you checked for play in the front driveshaft? The CV connection at the transfer case is known to wear out.

It sounds like its coming from the drivers front, but if I hang by head under the truck while in 4x4, (in the yard). it kinda sounds like it could be coming from that area....

pull the front driveshaft, see if the transfer case end has smooth operation, inspect for a dry ball.

It was the transfer case CV joint....the last part I changed.....(CV axle first, then the wheel hub assembly)....
