Hello I’m new to this forum stuff, if I’m not doing this right I apologize. I just bought a 2001 ford ranger 3.0 manual non ff with a blown motor. I bought a new motor for it and installed, starts great, but I’m getting a misfire on cylinders 4&6, and throwing codes p0304, p0306. I’ve checked plugs and wires for spark, pcm is firing on each injector wire, all injector wires have continuity and 12v, I’ve tried a different set of injectors with no change, if I unplug the injectors while it’s running all make a noticeable difference except for 4&6 there’s no noticeable change. I’ve sprayed around the whole top of engine with starting fluid and can’t find a vacuum leak. I’m at a loss and pulling my hair out this is the first time I’ve ever registered to one of these and asked for help, but please any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

No I’ve verified wiring colors. I also just tried putting a new coil still no change. Now I’m about to perform a compression test, it’s a new motor but I don’t know what else to check! 😤🤬 I’m pretty positive I have the spark plugs wires on correctly.

hold on a minute.
on the coil one side is in order, 1-2-3
the other side is not in order, 5-6-4

EDIT:
that might be what Haynes says, but the pic of a coil I pulled from a 2000 3.0 says different.

both from the front.
verify your coil is marked like that.
each of the 3 internal coils in the pack fires 2 plugs at the same time.
if one fires then it's partner should also fire.

on the engine, front pass is #1, front driver is #4

you can check spark by pulling a plug and holding it against the engine, then crank.

Yep that’s how it’s on there, I just pulled plugs and 1-2-3 look perfect, 4 was wet and black 5-6 just black. Getting ready to perform compression test. Also used a noid light just confirm injectors are getting signal

here is a pic of a 2000 coil, there seem to be some discrepancies.
if a plug is wet the injectors are working, spark not so much.

by the way, the cam sync sets injector timing. if it's 180 off you will still get spark but fuel may be way off.
waste spark system fires all plugs once every revolution.

Ok guys I found it, let’s just call it a head up my … moment, thank you for making me recheck plug wires I had the wires mixed up on the driver side I tried a resistance check and had no continuity so started tracing wires and bingo! I could have swore I double checked them, guess I had my head up there twice! lol. Running great, now I’m getting a p0156 & p01152 bank 2 o2 heater circuit fault and bank 2 02 indicating rich condition both codes are sensor 1. So if I can figure those out I can go get my emissions and plates!! Any ideas where to start. Is just bad 02 sensors?

Heater circuit is more often bad wiring. It likes to lay on the exhaust if not routed properly.

With the problem you had before, the sensors may be a little fouled. I know it's not on the road, but if you could run it maybe the sensors would clear up.

Take it for a good ride on the highway.. floor it from 50- top speed and hold it there (OF COURSE IN A WIDE OPEN DESERTED AREA) that should clear out your unburnt fuel and carbon. then clear codes!
