Ok not new to turning wrences but im new to the ranger turbo. Idea is as simple as any. Turbo kit from Ebay with a T4 turbo some fittings and a exhaust manifold to mount the turbo on. Ok basic principle is easy. just gonna see if im missing any thing. and a few little questions.

Ok only shooting for about 8-10lbs of boost for power and fuel economy.

Oil source is comming from sending unit. Using a t. Can i dump the oil return into the valve cover? or is it a must to go to the oil pan.

Does the mass airflow need to go before or after the turbo? (im more into carbs and big blocks so not sure on the maf)

I need 36lb injectors

Will my stock cat handle the increased flow?

Hardest part will be making the air piping but not worried.

Will I need to reprogram my comp or with this little bit of boost be able to be made up with my Mass airflow?

Vacume source for power brakes and other things.

Looked through a lot of general tech all over several forums and these are what I didnt get answers to. So with these answers....:icon_welder:

Oh and a easy source for the injectors. AKA where and what vehicle can i rob them.

SHOULD be ok for 8-10lbs of boost

The oil should not return to the top of the engine. The oil coming from the turbo charger is going to be hot and needs to be cooled quickly. Since the oil pans job is to cool the oil, that is where you should be heading. Also keep in mind that the oil return is generally not pressurized and needs to rely on gravity to return the oil, if it is not returned quick enough it can actually start to affect the turbo.

Im not to sure on your MAF sensor.. But i would think after the turbo because it is used to read atmospheric pressure, since you are creating more atmospheric pressure i believe it should be picking up the increase from the turbo.

Since you are creating more heat and burning more out of the engine im going to suggest your cat shoudl be ok.. but i am not totally sure on that one either

because you are only looking to run 10lbs of boost your comp. should be ok, however i would look into getting it re-calibrated

Thats the best I can do for you!

If you get this setup post some photos and let us know how it works. I don't know anyone yet that has bought this setup. I thought about getting one of them for my neice's Mazda 3000 4x4 and installing it. She wanted a turbo last Christmas but said she would wait until this summer. Maybe I will do this for her if she still feels she wants one. She will pay half and I will pay the other half.

I wouldnt run a turbo without upgrading to forged internals. and you will most likely need a retune to compensate for the boost

I'd beef up the 'mission, but that's just me. There are high flow catalytic converters out there, and I'm willing to bet there are universal ones too.

Personally, after building up the engine and mission, I'd go procharger or vortech superchargers.

Eh, centrifugal superchargers are the bottom of my list. If you want your engine to simply "feel" bigger get a positive displacement supercharger. No lag, no waiting until 4000rpm to build boost like a centrifugal charger. If you want more top end power then turbocharge. Less power draw then a centrifugal charger and you'll see boost a lot sooner (and hold it throughout the powerband).

You aren't the original poster... so what does it even matter where it is on your list???

Haha, did you not just post your opinion stating "Personally, after building up the engine and mission, I'd go procharger or vortech superchargers". You aren't the original poster either, so what does it matter to you?

You stated an opinion about Vortech chargers, and I stated my opinion. Does this bother you?

I would want to do this just to see how it ran and the power increase, but probably not on my daily driver.

And to the OP, you got a link to this kit?
