2000 ranger 5.0 swap


Thanks guys got the cooling fan wraped up before work today using a dual fan setup out of a contour need to get some more atf and put the exhaust in put the bed back on then she should be running down the road to see if its gonna shift right and fix the altnator its not charging right now so need to trace thoes wires down

Willy, read my build thread (last post). I just chased down my charging issue with my 5.0 swap. It was a connector that needs repinned for the exciter wire. I posted pics!
 
Thats what i figured the excite wire wasent getting power im running 97 ecu on 98 harness and 98 motor so all kinds of gremlens are bound to pop up like my tach works without moving pins oil pressure works temp sensor dosent havent driven it yet to figure out the shifting issues
 
Did get the trans harness hooked up today the blinkin o/d off light went away still not sure why my dash had an o/d light was a manual truck
 
The pats left in my truck wasent sending power to the starter relay so i rewired it to a push button and used the nss in my b&m shifter
 
Used the foglight button as my start button took the slide lock out of it to make it a momentary switch not a on off button
 
I do need to get rid of the theft light that thing blinks like a champ

Got the exhaust past the tight spots now need to weld the rest up put in some bungs put the bed on fix charging issue then testdrive time
 
That sounds like a tall short list. What did use for the drive shaft?

Got a conversion joint and shortened up the rear napa had to order the joint for front but have a 97 f150 4.6 shaft
