Main difference when running the '97' ECU (XDT2) and wiring is the change to a return fuel system with lower psi. Cam sensor is different also. Don't know where you are getting the VSS from right now.

I have a bw 4406 with the correct vss 98 motors are return style system and cam sensors are the same from what im seeing the differences are in the transmission wiring and the digital range sensor

Got the steering around the headers issue solved today took another intermidiate shaft from a pic n pull ranger cut the joints off the bottom welded them to the top of the shaft shortened up the shaft and all is well

Or you could have bought Torque Monster headers and been done with it.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Their site says "Purchasing temporarily disabled", they are worth the wait. I know this first hand.

Yea the bbk shorties fit well steering work around is done and next year when i sas the gearbox is going outside the frame so it wont be any interferance issues
