I have a 2000 Ranger 2.5 with 107,000 on it. My question is this, the clutch still works, did the 3rd gear test on it, no slipping. But, all the clutch activity is at the very end of the pedal stroke. The fluid level is good and no leaking going on that I can see. Anyone have the same problem? How long do I have before the clutch wears out?:icon_confused:

The clutch is hydraulic, and so the pedal is 'self adjusting'

The point at which the clutch engages in terms of pedal postition has no correlation to the level of wear on the clutch.

With 107,000 it could be in for some replacing soon, but depends on who's been driving the vehicle for the past 10 years.

hey ive got the same truck and mine started slipping aroun 98000 and my flywheel got messed up bc of hold long it was slipping and the clutch was worn out i did teach 3 people to drive a failed on the 4th person so mine had some wear on it . you should look at replacing the master cylinder too

the 3rd gear test is from a dead stop, put the truck in 3rd, and see if the truck stalls when you release the clutch. if the engine starts to rev when releasing, the clutch is toast.
