Hi there all,
I am in the ongoing process of modifying my little 2000 Ford Ranger Extended cab xlt. It came stock with the 4.0L Engine, Automatic Transmission, A/C and all of the goodies, so far to date the body has 240,000 miles, the engine 99,000, the tranny 20k, and the xfr case 10k. I have installed a performance accessories front torsion bar leveling lift, and a skyjacker add a leaf lift in the rear (Not for the faint of heart), a K&N aircharger cold air intake system( Sounds REALLY Cool when you put the go foot down). Now I am in the process of installing a performance accessories 3 Inch body lift and am going through fits. The install manual is a good basic overall manual, but need guidance in what to do. Since the truck has 240k miles I know I need to put new body bushings into the truck, but how in the heck do I do this? I hope to hear from a few pro's on how to tackle this. Is the easiest way to cut off the bushings and if so, How in the heck do I install the new ones? The ultimate goal is to get about 5-1/2 Inches of lift, I already have the 2-1/2 with the suspension. And want to put on TSL 9-34-16 swampers when done. Any guidance would be appreciated.
