I have a 2000 Ranger Supercab XLT
I do have an aftermarket Pioneer head unit and door speakers.
I am looking to add in an AMP/SUB combo.
I have what looks like a factory amp connection behind my driver's seat.
Also, I have a factory sub/amp from an 04-05 F150 #6L3T-18C804-BB.
My question is, is it worth trying to install the F150 factory sub, should I try to trade for one out of a ranger, or go for an aftermarket sub and amp?

Welcome to the forum

Not sure there would be an audio system plug behind drivers seat, certainly possible

Go here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/radio_wiring_diagrams.shtml

Look at the "audiophile" diagrams, 2004 and see if colors match
The audiophile systems had the added subwoofer with an amp just for the subwoofer

You can add a powered subwoofer and use the signal from either rear speaker as the source

From what I remember the audiophile system had the amp and subwoofer in the center console, pictures here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/old-i...ther-full-length-center-console-w-sub-150074/

Wiring came from center of dash

Don't know much about the F-series powered subwoofer but it probably wants a Line Level signal from the radio
So pull out the radio or look up the model number to see if it has a line level "sub out", many do and that means it also has a built in cross-over
If not you will need 6-8 ohm to line level converter to use that powered subwoofer and also a simple cross-over to remove the higher frequencies

There is probably also an "enable" circuit on this subwoofer, turns the amp on and off when radio is on or off
You would need to find out what that circuit requires, most likely its just 12v on or off but just a guess

All in all it will probably be simpler to sell that F-150 unit and buy a powered sub that has the 8 ohm converter and cross-over built-in and also an "auto on/off" circuit
