2000 Ford Ranger Chassis

Hello,

I cracked my 2000 extended cab ranger chassis in the rear right next to the gas tank all the way through, so i am going to replace the chassis.
My question is, i heard the chassis is 2 pieces a front and a rear is this true or is it all one?
Another question is what year rangers can i use for a donor car, and do they have to be extended cabs.

The frames are 2 pieces. They're riveted together, so you'll have to cut/grind the rivets out. The wheelbase never changed for extended cab trucks, so I'm not aware of any differences that would be a deal breaker in the rear sections from 93-11.

Rear sections re all the same. Put one from an extended cab on my reg cab. Cut 16 rivets and UN hook everything. Pretty easy weekend job. If you got all the tools needed. I cut an X in the rivet heads with a cutoff wheel and air chiseled them off. Just used 7/16(I think) grade 8 bolts nuts and washers to go back together. My donor was an 03 and my truck was 99. Didn't start the 2 piece frames till 98. Don't know how far you can go. Just happened to think, you said it broke by the tank. Was it in front or behind the spring hanger? Frames split at the spring hanger so if it broke before you'll have to weld and plate and call it good.. Hope this helps.
