2000 Ford Ranger 4X4 WHAT WOULD YOU DO?!?!

Ok im just looking for any suggestions as to what i should do to my 2000 ford ranger 4x4 stepside with a 3.0 and auto tranny...i wanna lift it up at least somewhere around 5-6in and the size tires i get i really dont care but anyways im kinda on a budget right now so if you were low on dough (lets say you have about a $2000 budget) what would you do as far as lift, tires, wheels etc.....used stuff is allright...just lookin for suggestions and about how much they would cost
 
ok i seen a guy somewhere on the internet that had the same setup as mine with the lift and tires as follows: 3" body, 3" torsion keys, rear 2"add-a-leaf and 2" shackles and 12.50x35's...the torsion keys and and add-a-leaf come as a kit from fatbobsgarage.com....but anyways what do yall think about this setup for me and instead of 35s just 33s...
 
Don't get add a leafs either. Get a set of 4-door explorer leafs instead.
 
Whats the difference in the add-a-leafs in that kit vs the four dour explorer leafs? will i still get 2-3in outta the explorer leafs?
 
I have the same problem with my ranger. I have a 2000 4x4 auto trans but with a 4.0L. I got lift shackles for the rear and a T bar crank up front. I had to get camber bushings to correct the camber up front cause of the T bar crank tho. I was able to fit 32x10.5x15 Maxxis Mudders no problem. I recently purchased 35x14.5x15 Super Swamper TSL's and I have a 3 inch body lift on the way. I will have to trim the back corner of the front fenders so I can turn but everything else looks ok.

32's or 33's are a nice size cause its not a big enough tire to really wreck bearings and axles but it still gives you the over sized off road appearance and performance. once you go to 35's (especially a wide set) you will be replacing steering components bearings and axle shafts until you get it all beefed up.

the 4 door explorer leaf springs just have extra leafs. my ranger has 2 leafs and the explorer has 4 leafs to support the extra weight. it will also increase the weight capacity that the bed can hold. All you gotta think about is your taking the suspension made to hold up all the extra weight of an SUV and putting it on a pickup that doesnt have all that weight in the ass. so its gonna be stiffer and sit 2-3 inches higher. all you have to worry about when doing a leaf swap is the centering bolt. when you put on explorer leafs (which are made to go under the axle) you have to press the bolt out and reverse in for an over the axle setup.

ok with the shackles...what type am i looking for? ive read that late 80s models chevys (i think) lowering shackles are the ones to try and get...what years exactly or what shackles exactly do i look for?
