I have searched and found no difinitive answers.....
So I bought a 2000 B4000 for hauling my dirt bike from track to track across the southern US but have since "retired" from riding/racing (no body likes a quitter). Now that mileage is not as big of a concern I want to gain a little ground clearance for the deer lease but after much research I have concluded that the 2000 B4000 is a mystery in the lift department.
I am looking to put 33" to 35" tires on it but can't find a difinitive answer on what fits and what does not. I know the 2000 Ranger is essentially the same truck but I find mfg's that list ranger components and not the B4000, some list them both. So here we are, can anyone tell me if the Ready Lift leveling kit for a 2000 Ranger will fit? I am thinking about the leveling kit, a 2" body lift and fiberglass fenders (frnders as to not lift the center of gravity too much) and then going from the 31" to the 33" or the 35" if the 4 liter will pull them easy enough. Any thoughts and/or advice from those that do know is greatly appreciated, BB out..............

depends if its 4x4, edge or 2wd xlt!

Well you mentioned you wanted ground clearance, body lift and fenders will not do anything at all to help that. But any ranger lift should work with a b4000. What gears do you have? That will determine what size tires you can comfortably run.

It's a Mazda 4X4, title says Troy Lee model but it is plain Jane tan paint without the Troy Lee stickers etc...

But the larger tires I mentioned will give me the ground clearance. I have had many lifted trucks in the past but NEVER one this much mystery about what fits. The TL model is supposed to come stock with 4:10 to 1

4.10 you'll be perfectly fine with 33's and most likely 35's as well.

How big are your stock tires? You don't gain much at all with larger tire size,

The stockers are 31" but for every 2" of diameter you gain (theoretically) 1" of ground clearance. Larger tire diameter is the only way of increasing ground clearance. I figure the 35's would be the absolute limit for me, I do not want to build another "bulletproof mudder" just something to try to not get stuck at the lease. Might settle on the 33's though.
I do appreciate all the help, keep it coming......

Well there is the superlift suspension lift, 4" of lift, will provide more ground clearance. But it's pricey, an not sure what years it's for.
Personally, I'll be doing 3" BL and 33's. I think 33's are the perfect size for rangers, perfect look and capability for a small pickup.

Yea, $1700 is more than I'll spend to get 4" of lift. I would rather do a SAS if I was going to sink that kind of cash.

I have had lifted trucks and torn them to shreads and while it was fun at the time, it was way too costly to find the weak points and replace them with tougher parts. I realized that the desert racers and pre runners have it right, larger fender openings and not as large of lifts give you the ground clearance without the high center of gravity. Granted, the desert suspensions have much more wheel travel but if you have a 37" tire on a truck with stock fenders you have to lift it higher to keep the tires from rubbing your fenders. You put a 37" tire on a truck with 6" flare and 4-6" larger opening you do not need as high of a lift as they will fit into the opening, but you have the same ground clearance (as long as both trucks are the same make and model). If I lived near somewhere to use it I would build a pre runner and rip it up! I miss the adrenaline from motocross.

It's not the lift that messes with stock parts, it's the stress of the larger tire.

You will have the same wear and tear in parts with bugge tires with a lift+stock fenders as you would with no lift+cut fenders.

Exactly why I said I was not going to go big! My analogy was to say that two of the same size tires will create the same ground clearance no matter how you lift the truck, fiberglass fenders (not cut) will keep the CG lower and provide a more stable vehicle. I know what parts take the stress, I have had plenty of off road trucks and found the weak links on each one. About the time you get fed up with wrenching on a truck and git rid of it you get the itch for a new one and start over.

Relieving the strain on the motor/tranny/transfer case with gears is the first step, then comes the torque on the cv and u joints, axles, even the bearings take a beating. The stock drive train is not designed to handle much more that 10-20% more than the stock setup but like I said earlier< I just want a little ground clearance and do not want to spend a ton to get it.

At work so I'll b quick. Susp. Lift says your cv will wear out around 20 thousand miles , not good. I put a BL 3 " lift and crank torsions 1 " then added 32"tires. Gained more ground clearance and truck runs great with stock 4.10 gears. Next ill get 33" tires . Gotta go
