Well I've blown up just about every other nook and cranny of this forum with silly questions and figure I should just compile the progress into a little build thread. Bought this about a month or so ago, 150,000 miles. It had been sitting for a year but started right up with a jump and has had no starting trouble since.
Here's the first picture of it. I didn't even take that hard top home. Left it with the dude- it was broken and had to wasp nests in it.

Brought it home and immediately did the full tune up- wires, plugs, fuel filter, oil filter/change, air filter, pvc, wipers, and new tires (looking back I wish I'd gotten 'beefier' tires). Then I got into the stuff it needed like blown fuses, front pads, calipers and rotors, o2 sensor, idler pulley, serpentine belt, front window motor, wheel bearings. Then got into the things I wanted like painting the wheels black- they're still ugly stock for now, bed rails, anchors, new grille, painted diff cover for fun but I think when I pull it off to change the fluid I'm going to paint it black. I had the blue lying around and wanted to see what it looked like.

Next up on the list-
Get the dang plug off the rear diff somehow so I can check the fluid (yes, I painted with it still on.).
Figure out the exhaust... it doesn't show signs of being faulty but it sure doesn't look like it's in good shape.
Windshield (but I know as soon as I get a new one I'll get another crack)
Mount the spare (waiting until I'm done with the diff/exhaust)
New side markers get here Friday (getting rid of that orange!)
How it stands!
