So i am kinda cheap and dont even have 600 bucks laying around for a lift, so i figured i'd check ebay lol. The only lift i could find for suspensions was this one...

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Ford-Ranger-Expl...Submodel:STX|Model:Ranger&hash=item3a368368d1

...So, has anybody tried these out? I am assuming that its another "you get what you pay for" thing but i figured it never hurtsa to check it out. If these are crap, would you mind suggesting the cheapest suspension lift that is ok? I am wanting to fit 31"s nicely.

Thanks for checking it out

washers to level the front and a 2" shackle in the rear is the cheapest route to go

Yes, but doesnt that defeat the whole point of a "suspension lift"? Lmao sounds to me more like a body lift lol. What would you suggest for me to be able to offroad alright (nothing too major) for a decent price?

its not a body lift, you use them as a space under the coil. or you could get new leveling coils from roughcountry there like 60 bucks, and its alot better to get new coils and leave the stock mounting point than to use a spacer. dont go with add a leaf, they make your truck ride hard and they cost more to get put together then the lift it self, if your not going to do it your self. you could get beltech 6400 shackles or go to the junkyard and get the two inch blocks for the rear from a ranger. but whatever you do dont get an add a leaf.

thanks dave,

Washers are the same thing that is in that auction, but the washers will hold up and will only cost you about $10:

"Kit contains: 2 spacers, 2 stud extenders 5/8”, 1 pair Add-A-Leafs, center bolts and installation instructions. (20200-4WD)"

As for the rear, just get some lowering shackles from Autozone for $20

Isnt leveling coils just lifting the front? My front right now sits with the front a bit higher than the rear (not sure why, maybe sag over the years lol).

I may as well just ask this lol... What is the cheapest "good" lift to be able to clear 31"s nicely? I want to have a good offroading truck, but am not on a crazy budjet. I'm basically trying to find a lift that allows me tolift my truck nicely and durably with just the height i need now, then work on other parts to get a all around good truck. Know what i mean? lol. If i could get a alright lift to just clear 31"s with no rubbing and be able to offroad without wrecking something because its just old stock parts lol.

I'm not sure the exact lift i need to fit bigger tires, but i figure i could fit 31"s without toomjuch problem based upon comparing to my current tires (235/75/R15). Maybe you might be able to tell by my picture on my profile? lol Thanks for the help

Exactly what I just said.

Will that be good for offroading? I am looking for durablilty while i hit big bumps and climb whatever i can lmao. In theory, i just want things to not break...

Also, how do lowering shackles work? Dont know much about thema dn from the name it sounds like the oposite aplication :P

the lowering shackle on a ranger hanger in the stock formation will gain 2 inchs in when you flip the hanger and put the 2in shackle on it will lower it

washers is safe to wheel with there are many guys on here that do it with no problem if you want to feel a little safer with them run a few beads of weld on them to hold them together

With that set up its ultimately the cheapest/easiest route to go to clear 31s with no problem

or you could grab a zip disk and a grinder and make them fit. ive have 33s under mine with leveling coils and shackle in the rear.

thanks dave,

and i think he means the chevy lowering shackles, they wont say ranger on the box but just look at your shackles on your truck and look at the shackles in the box and u'll understand when you see it.

That's the way I went on a budget.

I didnt do the shackle flip when i did mine. But I also put 63 inch chevy leaves and the chevy lowering shackles and got 6 inches in the rear. But Im also SAS in the front.

Go with what they said to do, its your best cheapest option.

go to the junkyard and get you a set of f150 coils and retainers. They are approx 2 inches taller than ranger springs.

A set of 2 inch drop shackles form autozone are 30 bux and you can get a set of exploder leafs from the JY and play mixmatch with your ranger leafs to at anywhere from .5 to 1.5 inches with respective ride quality. In the tech library read up on budget lifting. Also r1hatman has a gen 1 ranger with 31x10.50 M/T's this is his setup and he has almost no problems.
