2-Piece to 1-Piece Driveshaft questions

Darn, local shop is Out of Stock... So now I must decide:

- Order a another driveshaft with flange yokes for $83 with shipping or...
- Order just the flange yoke for $48 with shipping

Hmm.. would be nice to have that extra drive shaft for only $35 extra...

Oh yea, got a quote from local drive line shop to install u-joints (which are a huge pain in the ass) and balance: $48... sounds like a deal to me!

Well folks, I got it all done. Took about an hour (because I had already drilled out the rivets). And the results... great! No more vibrating! I didn't have to trim a thing and I am still debating whether or not to put the carrier bearing support back, it really does not appear to be structural. I'm sure I'll find a spot for it tho.

So my $40 drive shaft ended up costing $235 .. here's how

$40 driveshaft
$43 driveshaft shipping (great lakes to west coast)
$35 2.5" 1330 Flange Yoke
$27 Flange yoke shipping (2nd day air, coast to coast - hey only $14 more than ground and I wanted this project done this week)
$48 Labor to install new u-joints AND balance the drive shaft
$42 (2) new spicer u-joints + tax

So there you have it. I'll try to post some pictures soon.
