anyone know of shocks that are two inches longer than stock (95) ranger front shocks? something i can get local (autozone, napa, etc) even if its something that fits an f150 or something? just need something that i dont have to send away for, and is dirt cheap, so i can see if i get more down travel, then i will get better ones.

Don't know if they are setup the same, but I got some for a 2wd F150 and they were 1"-1.5" longer. Fit well and rides better.

Btw I paid 16 bucks a piece for mine at O'reilly.

Thats why I said I dont know how yours is setup. My B2 and the F150s from the same year used the same style shock.

It should be the same setup. his suspension and your Bronco II is the same

i know r1hatman used f150 shocks with his f150 coils too

Numbers!

For a quick reference I will go with a popular monroe sensatrac.

Stock Ranger:

Compressed: 9.75"
Extended: 14.5"
Travel: 4.75"
P/N: 37015

Ranger w/ Highrider

Compressed: 10.75"
Extended: 16"
Travel: 5.25"
P/N: 37018

1994 F-150 4x4

Compressed: 11.625"
Extended: 18.375"
Travel: 6.75"
P/N: 37036

I found my shocks to be sitting at about 14" with the 132x leveling coils. My truck is a 3L 4x4 supercab. As you can see, the extended length on a stockish ranger shock is 14.5".....see the problem?lol. With F-150 4x4 shock I'd be riding pretty close to center on them. Leaving just a tad bit more droop. Which is ok cause I have more down travel than up travel anyhow.

The highrider shock would be good for anyone who throws a little spacer, and are concerned about the shock. It's a whole 1" difference.

Hope these help. I'm going with the 4x4 F-150 shock. And yes, the mounting points are exactly the same as a Ranger. A 3/8 x16 stud at top and a 5/8 x 1 5/16th loop at the bottom.

awesome! thanks. i would give you some rep, but apparently i gotta spread it around. lol.

you can spread some to me if you want. haha

I tried F150 shocks when i did my lift and the bottom hole in the shock was too small, i used 94 f150 shocks. now my truck ride like crap because the shocks limit the suspenion...

Don't know if they are setup the same, but I got some for a 2wd F150 and they were 1"-1.5" longer. Fit well and rides better.

what year? i got a pair for a 91 f150 4x4 and they did not work. they were exactly the same length as the stock shocks on my 91 ranger.
