2 good subs for 1500w mono amp, quick question

Ok so im probably trading some old wheels i have for a 1500w mono amp, this one http://www.quantumaudio.net/solaramp_qsa1500d.htm
anyways i was thinking about running 2 12s through this amp, I dont need anything crazy but want good bass and still be loud, i used to have 2 12" kicker cvr's power by a 1000 watt kenwood amp and really liked the sound i got from it, anyways was checkin around and read that a mono amp works well to power 2 subs at 2 ohms with SVC, can anyone give me more info on this, also i was thinking about gettin a set of 12" shallow mounts, not too shallow but enough that i can still move my seats back all the way, want to have 2 12s firing forward, have a 97 ext cab, ANYWAYS any thoughts on using the 1500 watt mono amp and running 2 12s shallow mounts that are svc

I believe, correct me if i'm wrong, that since that amplifier is not 1 ohm stable, you will have to wire those subwoofers in series which would make the load 4 ohms instead of 1 ohm which would be in parallel.

ok thanks, basically i guess what i need to know is if i can make it work to hook up 2 12s off of this amp, also i can also get a 2 channel 620 watt power acoustik amp should i go ahead and get that one to power the speakers, not sure if i can wire 4 speakers on a 2 channel amp...
EDIT: btw the other amp is a power acoustik ts620 2 channel amp

that sub should be fine with two SVC subwoofers.. but like i said you will hook them up in series, which would increase the load from 2 ohms on each voice coil to 4 ohms, and when you increase resistance (ohms) you decrease power. check to see what the rated power rate is when the amp is under a 4 ohm load.

Also, yes you can power 4 speakers with a 2 channel amplifier. it's basically the same thing as what i just said for the subwoofers. think of each channel as the amp you are looking at, and think of each pair of speakers as your two 12's.





check with what some of the more seasoned audiophiles around here have to say, because i may be wrong, but i think i am right about all of this.

Ok cool thanks for the info, ill go ahead and do this trade, even with the subs being wire in series as apposed to parallel and decreasing the power I should still be able to get 2 12s to hit decent with that amp though correct? Granted as long as I get 2 12s that match the amp well

First, 1500 max???? And having that on two 12" ctv is a blow sub waiting to happen. But I don't think 1500, or 1000 watt is your rms. Which is what really matters when matching amps and subs together. Second, you can get a two ohm load out of 2 4 ohm loads, if you wire it correctly. You have run them in parrell for a 2 ohm load

with (2) dual voice coil 2OHM subs, you can run them at 4Ohms or 1Ohm

id def. look at a better amp. check out www.sonicelectronix.com for equipment.

if you give me a price range, and what you want to get. ill piece a system together for you that will blow what you picked out of the water.

Correct, as I read it, he has the amp. He wants to run two subs to a mon block amp; and have a ohm load of 2 so he would have to get (2) 4ohm subs and run them parrell. To achive 2 subs with a 2 ohm load.

Yes you can run 4 speakers off a two channel amp. You just Lose fade or balance. And you set it up as two parrell/ serise circuts. But you need to start looking at true numbers. So you can look at your options your subs have to be corect for your amps rms output a set ohm load. And your speakers need to match your highs amp. And if your running a two channel highs amp. You have to look at the two speakers together. And make sure both sets of speakers you "pair " have the same ohm load.

Thanks for all the info guys really learnin alot, so it seems like ill be better off to just go ahead and pass on gettin these amps then, was only going to get get them because it was a trade deal to get rid of these old wheels i had, anyways im looking for a good system that has good sound quality and can still get pretty loud if i want it too, im not completely stuck on 2 12s I'm definatly open to other suggestions, I just remember me and a friend set up 2 12" kicker CVr's in my old 98 and it sounded good, Ill check into some other amps and check out those, what would yalll recomend for an amp wise and subs, im lookin to do a very budget system, I spent about $700 for my old system with 2 12" kickers powered by a 1000 watt kenwood amp, kenwood 6x8 speakers powered by 600 watt kenwood amp and used kenwood head unit, Id like to spend a little less if possible though

what if you ran the two 12's facing each other and out of phase?? one amp and two subs. from my understanding and what i have seen put together you can get some really loud and deep base by running this setup. actually, setup this way, you can get the sound and performance of a much larger systems in a smaller space.

what is the required space for the subs to perform?? just cause you can get the 12's into a shallow mount does not mean you are going to get the sound.

and as mentioned above, look into the rms values on your equipment, wattage means nothing when its all heat.

I dont need a shallow shallow mount sub, just something around 6" or so just dont want one of these cometition subs that need a really deep mounting depth, and i know i will need to build the box for the correct airspace, i built my old box and it turned out great, iknow the basics about building the box around the subs and all that, just wondering what would be a good amp/sub combo on a tight budget, more than likely ill build a sealed box tooo btw, or I may even consider a single sub, 1 12 or 1 15 and can look at sealed or ported box's just trying to get decent sound for little cash

sorry for double post but what are yalls opinions about just running a single sub, I was thinkin either 1 12" or 1 15" sub, how would that monoblack amp work powering a single sub? or should I still just wait and look for a better amp? sorry for all the questions just trying to pick yalls brains and find out what setup would work best for me
