i've pieced together a 2" bl with blocks off ebay. can anybody tell me the bolt length required? before starting the install, i would like to have the bolts rather than pull and measure.

i too am curious, what all is needed for a 2" bodylift on my truck, or a newer style ranger, what parts would i need to collect, sorry to threadjack but i think were after the same answer

Take each bolt out and measure and add 2" to them....they're different lengths, no easy way about it.

If you get a higher quality set, it comes with the bolts...

have to use universal 2" body blocks...i know that much

this is what i did. i then plan to get bolts from mcmaster carr or other industrial supply house. i would like to order just 1 length. does anybody know which mounting bolt is the longest? i'd like to avoid having to pull all of them (on one side only) to find out.

what are you planning for bumper re-location/

i think i will leave the rear where it is so i don't have a big gap between the bumper and hitch. i will then put some sort of gap cover between the bumper and bed. i will have to see how that looks. for the front, i will probably have to fab some brackets.

i dont think you have to worry about that big of gap between the back and the hitch, 2" wouldnt be too noticable of gap, better to raise the rear bumper too to keep the bodylines of the truck, let me know how you fab the brackets cuz i want to do this to my truck

oh shit have you thought about the steering extension and the transmission extension??

i'll post back once complete.

i've thought about both but no solutions as of yet. i've a 1" bl and did not adjust either. i'm kind of hoping the steering shaft will extend and the shifter will still clear the body. i think fabbing a shifter extension would be pretty simple, the steering extension may be a bit more challenging.

so your replacing the 1" with a 2"?...have you thought about a steering extension off an older style body lift kit, im not sure if they would be compatible with newer style...?

yes. i should have just gone 2" to begin with. a year from now i will say i should have gone with a 3", lol.

looking at the steering column, it looks like it telescopes. i will see what happens without an extension. if this fails, it looks like an extension can be easily fabbed with bar stock.

for the gear shift, i may just cut some clearance from the plastic shroud.

by the time i'm done, it would have been easier to buy a complete kit, but i'm cheap.
