Hi all, I’m having a fuel leak issue on the frame rail of my 88 ranger, it is the dual tank. The leaks I’m having is coming from presumably the high pressure line I believe on the fuel reservoir. It was hard to to tell exactly where it was coming from as it was so tight in there. The canister has 2 lines in 2 out. I cannot for the life of me find a replacement, I’ve found the part number “E7TA-9K044-AA” am I able to bypass this part? Or is a necessary piece to have. Thank you in advance.

It’s ”recommended” to have because it holds prime for the frame mounted high pressure pump. Without it you can wear the pump. There really are no replacements other than junkyard and that is becoming iffy.

Usually what I recommend and what I’d do would be to upgrade to the 89-92 pumps for in the tanks. Those were high pressure pumps and then you delete that reservoir and the frame mounted high pressure pump. if you don’t have a separate fuel filter, now is the time to add one. Unfortunately you need to make up all the fuel lines and do a little electrical, but chances are the fuel lines are getting to the end of their expected lifespan anyway. Dorman sells stuff to do factory nylon style lines or you can go to -6an PTFE braided line or I’ve done 3/8” aluminum and 3/8” rubber fuel injection line.
