I finally had the time to replace the fuel filter + pump today, so I tried to depressurize the system using the schrade valve on the injector rail. I had a line going from the valve to the tube, and when i depressed the schrade valve, the fuel that came out was about 40% air. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that this was/is my main problem, and would like to know if there's any particular component that can inject bubbles into my line like this. Also is there a purge procedure for clearing the line? Thanks,
